The following reviews on products were conducted personally by Buellwinkle and express my opinions and test results were appropriate.
  • Mercedes C230 Kompressor Coupe
    • ITG Airfilter
      • In combination with the pulley, this filter produced 3 rwhp. Costs $60. Available from www.itgfilters.com.
    • ASP Pulley
      • ASP has done an outstanding job on this pulley. Together with the ITG airfilter produced 30 hp and 35 ft/lbs torque at the rear wheels. Costs $650. Available from www.aspracing.com.
    • Renntech Muffler
      • This muffler is quieter than expect. It's hard to notice any sound difference between it and stock once moving. at idle some sound is there if the windows are open and you listen for it. Costs $790. Available from www.renntechmercedes.com.
    • Renntech Intercooler
      • This was a good looking intercooler, unfortunately I measured pressure losses of about 3/4 PSI and this showed up on the dyno as a 5-9 HP loss. Even when the factory IC was completely heat soaked, the Renntech IC caught up and was equal. Costs $995. Available from www.renntechmercedes.com.
    • Eibach Springs
      • Lowered the car about 1" and makes it look great without any sacrafice to ride. Handling improved slightly and I attribute this to the negative camber from the drop. Costs $330 installed. Available from www.d2technick.com.
    • AMG Sway Bars
      • These sway bars really tightened up the handling and high speed stability. Costs $200. Available from your local MB dealer.
    • MB Audio 10 CD
      • This is the indash AM/FM/CD that is sold in countries outside the US. It's made by Becker and sounds much, much better than the standard cassette radio found in the C-Class. You can still use the standard MB 6 CD changer but not the Motorola Phone kit (but you can use the GPS phone kit sold in Europe). Also has RDS so it displays information broadcast from some radio stations like song name/artist, stock market, weather. Installation is plug and play, takes about 20 minutes.
  • Cameras
    • Fujifilm Finepix S602
      • Excellent digital camera, closest to a real SLR for the under $700. Take great sharp, color accurate pictures. Has many manual features found in SLRs like manual focus ring, ability to set aperture and shutter speed, hot shoe and it's very fast, can shoot 5 pictures back to back without waiting.
    • Canon Digital Elph S300
      • This is a great tiny camera. 3x zoom is great for most my needs. Takes very color accurate pictures. Not quite as sharp as the Fuji but very good for it's size.
